Canadian community health nursing : professional practice model & standards of practice

Summary: This publication describes the components of the Community Health Nurses of Canada (CHNC) professional practice model and the standards of practice for community health nurses in Canada. Canadian community health nurses and experts from all practice areas participated in a number of consultative processes to develop the model and the standards. (See Appendix A - Methodology: Development of the Practice Model and Standards of Practice). The Community Health Nurses of Canada will regularly review the components of the professional practice model and the standards of practice and expects to make revisions as community health and nursing knowledge develops further.
